By Plane

Abbotsford is easily accessed by air via Abbotsford International Airport which located in the heart of the valley. This airport is serviced by Air Canada Rouge, WestJet, Fly Swoop, Flair Airlines, Island Express and Sunwing. Vancouver International Airport is also one hour east of the Fraser Valley, and Bellingham International Airport is also located one hour to the south.

 

By Car

From Vancouver
Car travel takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes from Downtown Vancouver. From where you are staying in the city, head east on the Trans-Canada Highway. Abbotsford can also be accessed via BC-99, or BC-17. Car sharing services located throughout the Lower Mainland offer daily and overnight rental rates that allow you to drive out the Fraser Valley and beyond. If you’re new to car sharing, simply set up an account online, see where an available car is near to you, and start your trip! Evo, Zipcar, and Modo all offer full day rates for around $100. Grab some friends for a fun road trip!

From Seattle
Abbotsford is located less than 2.5 hours north of Seattle. From downtown Seattle, merge onto Interstate 5 northbound toward Vancouver. At Bellingham, take exit 256A-256B for the Aldergrove-Bellingham Highway/ BC-13. This road will take you to the USA/ Canada border crossing and into the Fraser Valley. Don’t forget your passport!
 

Transit

Commuting to Abbotsford by transit is also an affordable and eco-friendly option! Taking the Expo Line SkyTrain from Vancouver, Burnaby or New Westminster to Surrey Central Station will connect you to multiple bus lines running to the Carvolth Park and Ride in Langley. From there, the Fraser Valley Express bus will take you directly to Highstreet Shopping Centre and the McCallum Park and Ride!

For those wanting to experience a classic train ride, the West Coast Express runs Monday to Friday from Downtown Vancouver to Mission with stops along the way. Hopping on the #31 bus in Mission will take you directly to Abbotsford! More information about the West Coast Express can be found here.

Looking to arrive by transit from somewhere other than Vancouver? Greyhound Bus Lines service Abbotsford from the Okanagan and Interior as well as Vancouver Island and across Canada.
