A special Sunday spent in Abbotsford

We love showing Mom how much we care, but after a while the flowers, brunches, and cards start feeling repetitive. This year are you looking for something a little off the beaten path? There are many creative, unique, and local ways to inject laughter and love into Mother’s Day.

Here are our top ways to celebrate Mother’s Day in Abbotsford.

1. Stroll Abbotsford’s Discovery Trail

Taking an afternoon wander is a great way to spend Mother’s Day together. Connecting east and west Abbotsford, the Discovery Trail’s paved corridors wind through forests and parks and around ponds. Enjoy walking, running, rollerblading, or cycling. Stop for a picnic lunch or to Instagram a few photos on your urban adventure. Download trail map here.

2. Wine Tasting at Singletree Winery

What better way to celebrate Mom than with a wine tasting at Abbotsford’s Singletree Winery? The tasting room is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 5:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic, pick up a bottle of wine, and enjoy the beautiful view of Mount Baker. 3. Shopping at the Market by Spruce Collective

Enjoy the Market by Spruce Collective in their new location at 2619 Montrose Ave. Featuring the Spruce Collective plus nine hand-picked vendors displaying eclectic vintage and antiques, this is not your average antique mall. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.

4. Free Photo with Mom at High Street

On May 8 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. round up your family for free Mother’s Day photos at Highstreet. Enjoy the make-up touches by Sephora, complimentary 5x7” print from London Drugs, and professional posing from photographer Tanya Goehring. Photo credit: Highstreet

5. Explore the Abbotsford Circle Farm Tour

From busy buzzing bees to blooming flowers, the Abbotsford Circle Farm Tour offers a farm fresh, honey sweet experience! Country markets feature quality poultry, local produce, flavoured honey, gourmet ice cream, & hand crafted soaps. Two nurseries have beautiful display gardens, plants of all sorts, home & garden décor, & unique gifts.
