New Year’s Resolutions in Abby

For many people the New Year is a fresh start, and with that comes the desire to be better.

Eat Healthy

One of the most popular resolutions for people going into the New Year is to eat better. After a month of holiday dinners, boxes of chocolates and maybe a bit too much rum and eggnog, it’s time to get back to basics. Abbotsford has you covered when it comes to eating right in the New Year!

A visit to Nature’s Pickin’s Market or Lepp Farm Market for fresh, locally grown produce will get your 2018 meal prep off to a good start. And you can’t forget the protein! Stop by Neufeld Farms Market for a variety of free run and hormone free poultry to round out your meal.

If you’re just too busy to cook a healthy meal, don’t hit the drive thru! Harvest Grill ‘n’ Greens is serving up quick, healthy and delicious meals in Historic Downtown Abbotsford. We recommend the spinach salad with wild Coho salmon for a nutritious and balanced meal.

Exercise More

So, you have the healthy eating down but now you want to up your fitness game? Abbotsford’s got that too!

Don’t let the rainy weather stop you from getting some exercise. Get Air Abbotsford offers a fun new way to workout inside. Spend an afternoon jumping on trampolines, playing dodgeball or diving in the foam pit. You’re sure to get your blood flowing and heart pumping!

If you’re ready to brave the outdoors you can hit up one of the many hikes and trails in Abbotsford! Matsqui Trail is great for walking, running, and biking with scenic views of the Fraser River. Discovery Trail is another great trail through the city, and is suitable for all fitness levels.

Try Something New

Maybe this year you’ve decided to try something new, pick up a new hobby, or simply watch less Netflix. We hear you!

Get your arts and culture on by visiting an exhibit at The Reach Gallery Museum. Their latest exhibitions Search by Image and Salt Water Skin Boats open on January 18th. Or why not enjoy some live theatre presented by Gallery 7 Theatre & Performing Arts Society? Their adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Doubt” runs through January and February at the Abbotsford Community Arts Addition.

Perhaps testing out virtual reality could be your new hobby? The newly opened VRKADE is BC’s largest virtual reality arcade. Grab some friends and try out their huge variety of games. Stop in for a free demo and you’ll be hooked!
