This fun filled itinerary is loaded with family friendly experiences that will have your children sharing memories for years to come.
If you’re heading from the west, start with the award-winning Campbells Gold Honey Farm and Meadery in Mt. Lehman and end the day swinging and sliding at Delair Park. If you’re starting from the east, begin the morning with a playful workout at Delair Park before entertaining the kids with educational ‘Did You Know’s’ and farm-to-plate goodness.
The ‘busy bees’ create a honey-sweet experience! Owners, Judy and Mike, love meeting new people and teaching their guests everything there is to know about bees, how they communicate, and what they produce.
You can sample honeys and go home with a bottle of mead (honey wine), or beeswax ointments and tinctures, honey soaps, beeswax & honey creams, and other unique gifts! The honey sticks are a perfect treat for kids and if you ask nicely, you might even be able to put your hand in a buzzing bee hive!
As agricultural advocates, EcoDairy is the first demonstration farm of its kind in Canada! Offering a highly interactive learning environment, the EcoDairy experience has been developed in partnership with Science World.
Test your skills at milking a cow, take a journey through a cow's digestive system, learn how they use cow manure to power the farm, and experience cow-comfort on the cow bed. Meet the Vitala Cows face-to-face and see Robbie, the Robotic Milker, go at it.
Known for growing raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, Maan’s U-Pick fields offer the authentic berry-picking experience. Take a break and pedal go-kart on the race track, run around the playground, zip-line over the farm, and pet the sweet barn animals.
In the fall, add the corn maze and pumpkin patch. Little treat for mom and dad--don’t forget to stop by the tasting room on the way out and sample some award-winning wines.
By this time, we guarantee that the kids will be starving and in need of a recharge. Our recommended lunchspots are Maan Farms Kitchen and Anne Marie’s Café. Maan Farms Country Kitchen offers home-cooked local food and fresh baking every day.
Anne Marie’s is a ‘blast from the past’ with the nostalgic 1950s ambiance. The menu is loaded with traditional favourites like chili fries, loaded burgers, and creamy milkshakes while the walls and a classic jukebox whisper tales from long ago.
You can’t leave the area before stopping for a farm-fresh ice cream cone at Birchwood Dairy. But we warn you, with over 50 flavours, the kids might not want to leave.
Abbotsford is full of great parks, but Delair Park is closest and full of green spaces, playgrounds, and welcoming picnic spots. Bring tennis rackets and enjoy a late afternoon game at the tennis court or you might catch the start of a baseball or soccer game. Did we mention that the Highway #1 is only a quick 3-minute drive away?
