Simple Summer Fun: Farm Fresh Picnic Ideas

Get inspired by the bounty of farm fresh food that is available here in Abbotsford, or pick up a meal to go from one of our local restaurants and head to one of the many parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy your meal al fresco.

Abbotsford has an abundance of locally grown food and plenty of wide open outdoor space so get out there and take advantage of it with your own picnic!

Singletree Winery

On the rolling hills of Mt. Lehman is where you’ll find Singletree Winery and their fabulous picnic space. The best part? It’s fully licensed! That’s right, you can stop by their tasting room and purchase some local meat, cheese, and crackers and enjoy it with a bottle of Singletree’s award-winning wine!

With both lawn space as well as picnic tables available this is one of Abbotsford’s hidden gems and the perfect place for a date night picnic style.

Lepp Farm Market & Clayburn Village

Lepp Farm Market is a picnic lover’s dream! They carry a variety of locally raised meats, Mt. Lehman cheeses, and many pre-made meals that are ideal for an impromptu picnic. In a rush? Stop by the Farmer’s Table Café to pick up some sandwiches to go.

After grabbing everything you need at Lepp Farm Market, head down the street to the historic Clayburn area to enjoy your feast. This quaint community makes the perfect backdrop for an outdoor meal. There are two grassy park areas for you to enjoy in Clayburn, one across from the Clayburn Village Store, and one beside the Clayburn School.

Nature’s Pickin’s & EcoDairy

Located just off Highway 1 in East Abbotsford, Nature’s Pickin’s and EcoDairy can be found side by side and make for an excellent one-stop shop and picnic location. Inside Nature’s Pickin’s, you’ll find tons of locally grown and produced meats, cheeses, vegetables and more.

A full-service deli offers an easy way to grab some sandwiches to take outside, and be sure to grab an ice cream cone outside from EcoDairy! Once you’ve selected your tasty picnic spread, head outside behind the buildings to enjoy their beautiful lawn space that offers stunning views of Mt. Baker.

Mill Lake Park

Pack up a basket of your favorite picnic foods or grab something to go from a local restaurant and head to one of the most popular parks in Abbotsford! Mill Lake Park has something for everyone, lots of grass space, walking trails, a playground and a spray park.

The perfect way to unwind after a long day, grab a pizza at Duft & Co. Brickhouse in Historic Downtown and take the kids to Mill Lake for a fun family evening!
