FOOTBALL
Abbotsford was the chosen site for the 2006 BC Lions Football Training Camp and will welcome the new Grey Cup Champions back in 2007 and 2008! Head coach Wally Buono and Vice President of Operations Scott Ackles were pleased with the conditions of the football fields and the excellent hospitality extended by the city. Renowned for its excellent high school football programs, Abbotsford has successfully secured several BC High School championships including Rick Hanson in 2004 and WJ Mouat in 2005. With age categories from 7 through 18, The Abbotsford Falcons are part of the BC Community Football Association. The Abbotsford Air Force Football Club, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2006, provides the opportunity for players 17-22 years old to play in the Canadian Junior Football League. The club also provides the chance for football athletes to develop and move on to successful professional careers in football. Abbotsford has a long history, great support and the facilities necessary to host great football events.
