WRESTLING
 Abbotsford is a city that develops and produces numerous wrestlers from the high school level. The Mid Valley Wrestling Club is a local association that aspiring wrestlers can turn to for more information and resources. Also, Mouat, Rick Hansen, Yale, Robert Bateman, MEI and Abbotsford Secondary schools are great training ground for aspiring wrestlers.

ATHLETE PROFILE
Gurjot Kooner
 Gurjot Kooner is currently a Grade 11 student attending Rick Hansen Secondary. He has had achieved significant accomplishments in his time with the Rick Hansen Wrestling team.
Last year, Kooner won a silver medal in the BC Boys Provincial Wrestling Championships. This year, he went a step further by capturing a gold medal in the 90 kg final. Kooner was one of three wrestlers who won gold for the Rick Hansen Secondary Wrestling team. In an interview with the Abbotsford News, Kooner said, “I finally became a B.C. champ. It feels pretty good.”
