GUNG-FU

Gung-Fu (Kung Fu) is a generic term used to refer to many different styles of Chinese combat arts and translates literally as "skill developed through hard work". The various styles have developed over thousands of years and have their own disctinct flavours. For example styles such as Praying Mantis, Tiger and Snake attempt to mimic the animal movements upon which they are based.

Wing Chun Gung-Fu is a style that that focuses on close-range fighting, and is simple, elegant and enjoyable to practice. One of its key ideas is that brute strength should not be used. Instead, correct positioning, feeling, timing and strategy are relied on.The Abbotsford based club offers a variety of programs suited to everyone. As the curriculum has a strong attention to street awareness and combat attribute training, classes are currently geared towards adults.
