It's Saturday morning, and colourful tents dot the community parking lot in Historic Downtown Abbotsford. Local produce growers, small-scale food producers, and creative artisans have just completed the finishing touches on their booths, and not a minute too soon. The shoppers have arrived, browsing among the aromatic baked goods and vibrant salad greens, the colorful handmade soaps and harvest-fresh apples. A local band breaks out in song.

Welcome to the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market. Launched in July 2004, the market enjoyed the most successful farmers' market inaugural season in suburban and rural BC and has continued to grow since then. Season three, the 2006 season saw vendors and customers interacting at a record setting pace.

The success of the Market has drawn increasing numbers of people from an expanding geographic region within the Fraser Valley (we even have regulars from Hope) and in 2006 attracted a few bus tours as well. Planning is underway for monthly indoor winter Markets with many of the same quality products available through the summer.

The atmosphere is festive, the selection is wide and healthy and everyone is welcome to experience the Market.
